The History of L-Chapter 1
WARNING: Spoilers for chapter 58 of the manga.

Quillish Wammy reached unsteadily for the button that would delete all data concerning the Kira case and ultimately alert L that he had been killed by Kira. As he pushed the button he recalled a time when things were better-when things weren't as terrifying and terrible as the times ahead would be. He remembered the day when he first met L.
The date was January 12, 1986. Quillish had just gotten a call from the local orphanage about a young boy-about 7 years of age-who they weren't quite sure what to do with. The boy was extremely antisocial-so much in fact that many of the caretakers wondered
Bedtime at Wammy'sFive year old Mello stared wide-eyed at the baby crib, wondering what they had put inside. Matt stood close behind clutching his blanket close to him.
"Whadoyou think it is Mello?" He asked with a little yawn as he rubbed his eye with his free hand.
"I dunno…maybe it's a ghost!"
This got Matt's attention
"a g-ghost? What makes you think it's a ghost?" He stammered, clutching his blanket tighter.
"Well, ghosts are supposed to be all white right? And kind of creepy looking? Well, it's definitely white and creepy looking, that's for sure!"
"Yeah but…why would a ghost-"
"Shhh! Someone's coming!"
