Description

"Cussing is what people do when they are too dumb to think of REAL words."
A quote by my dear aunt, this is what she told her daughters and I think it rings true (it seemed to work for my cousins too~). Not to say that people who cuss are dumb but it does make you sound stupid. There are so many better words out there that aren't swear words--really, why use a word that everyone else uses all the time? How boring is that? Get creative people! Insults are 10x as fun when the other person has no clue what you're saying~ XD and hey, there's also the fact that in a debate the minute you swear at or insult your opponent you automatically lose--something to think about next time you get in an argument with someone.

A brief history of cursing:
There are a great many curses that can be traced back to their common use in old English. Because it was so common, many of the words were considered "filthy" and people of a higher class who could afford education were told not to use them so as not to be associated with the uneducated lower class. The remaining curse words were banned by the church simply because their meaning suggested performing unclean acts which one should not speak about in mixed public as that would be, and still is, incredibly rude. As such, to this day people still associate curse words with people who are rude, uneducated, and beneath them. The people who don't, tend to liken the use to overusing filler words such as "like" "um" "uh" and so on. It becomes monotonous and your sentence, paragraph, or what have you loses all power and meaning it may have had before you decided to add the word(s).

Yep. A lot of people are starting to use the same comebacks and catchphrases nowadays (which most of them contain swear words), and very few are doing their best to stay original with their catchphrases.
